Heath Pennington
Intimacy Professional
Heath (pronouns they/them/theirs) is an intimacy professional with experience in film, theatre, television, live art, and performance. Heath trained and certified with Intimacy Professionals Association founder Amanda Blumenthal (Euphoria, The L Word), and has completed the Safe Sets™ COVID-19 Level A certificate as well as multiple emotional intelligence workshops.
What is an intimacy professional? An intimacy professional (Intimacy Coordinator for film and television, Intimacy Director for theatre) performs two main jobs: ensuring scenes of nudity and simulated sex are consensual and safe, and supporting the director and team in realizing their creative vision. |
Experienced Consent Expert
Communication and understanding are Heath's key goals. With over ten years of experience in film and theatre, Heath brings standout professionalism and integrity to the job. As a scholar who researches consent, their studies complement and inform their work, pairing practical with theoretical knowledge to inform best practices. Heath's commitment to exploring the intersections of performance and gender emerged from their research on BDSM for their Master's and PhD degrees. Similarly, their classroom and community-based teaching and sex education is organized around an overarching concern for equity and inclusivity.
Heath leads workshops in educational and business settings on consent, boundary setting, and equity. Through the Intimacy Professionals Association, Heath teaches the recurring workshop "Intro to Kink and BDSM for ICs," which introduces the world of bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism to intimacy professionals. |
UK and International
Heath is currently London-based, with easy access to the continent. A seasoned traveler with international experience in Hollywood, Hong Kong, and Budapest, they are available to work abroad, and proficient in Spanish.
